infuse INTENT

Cook with anger, & your food will impart uneasiness. Scrimp, & your food will not satisfy. Cook with haste, & your food will not nourish. Cook with love, & your food will heal.

Become aware of what you are putting out to the world, to other people, & into your food…

The colorful carrots were chopped, loving spread across the baking sheet in match stick shapes. Sweet potatoes were cubed and dabbled in for more color. The sweet onions were scattered in between and halved fennel bulbs took center stage. The veggies portrayed a vibrant sunrise which I knew needed a little Earth. So I chopped small piles of fennel fonds, fresh rosemary, from my happy little  kicthen plant, and sweet thyme. To the separated green piles, I added dirty grey Celtic sea salt. After drizzles of olive oil and a splats of real butter, I proceeded to add the herbs and salt. Sprinkling each herb was like sprinkling a pinch of whatever I wanted into my food – a little love, a little fun, a little joy, and oh yeah… a little money!

It’s what I do with food, infuse a little bit of my own intent, creating whatever will make the world a better place. Sometimes I use it for healing. Sometimes I use it to bring about a greater awareness in the lives of the individuals partaking in it. And sometimes the very act of preparing the food is the intent as which point I allow whatever needs to flow, flow.

Infusing INTENT can be done for any area your life. Infusing INTENT can be done in any act you do or participate in. Simply engage your mind so wholey in that feeling or emotion and bring it forth into your heart and out of your hands. But remember this… intention is powerful, it must always come from the heart and be used for the greater good.
